I was very excited to discover the command-line batch alignment program, and even more excited to see that there is a Universal-2 (M1/Intel) macOS version! Unfortunately I ran into a problem right out of the gate. See below for the diagnostics. I'm currently running macOS High Sierra v10.13.6 on an Intel Mac. Thanks!

Usage : StereoAutoAlign [Left image file path] [Right image file path] [Magic Number]

I don't have High Sierra, so I can't check, but it seems to be a problem with the OS version.
I will try to find a fix.

A version compiled with OSX_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET set to 10.13 has been released for Hight SIerra, please check it.

However, when compiling with 10.13, it seems that parallel processing is no longer possible, and it becomes much slower than the normal version.

Happy to report that High Sierra version works! It may not be as speedy as the parallel processing version, but it still feels pretty quick to me. Thanks!

I have a Mac and currently run SPM Pro 6.02 under CrossOver (20.0.4). It's brilliant, thanks ever so much for this software!

But recently there was a posting on photo-3D.groups.io that said:

"I just recently discovered that starting with StereoPhoto Maker (SPM)
v6.17 there is now a standalone command line utility for automatically
aligning a L/R image pair. There is both a Windows and Mac version,
and JPEG, PNG, and TIFF file formats are supported."

Is this true? I cannot find anything on the website that says there is an M1 Mac version of SPM. I'm happy as I am, although reluctant to upgrade to a later version under CrossOver as it took a lot of effort and eventually CodeWeavers did it for me.

It's not the Mac version of SPM, it's a console app called StereoAutoAlign.

If you are using SPM with CrossOver, I don't think you need to dare to use it.

I find StereoPhoto Maker to be an incredibly powerful and useful tool. I have been using it for years to combine digitized 35mm stereo slides into MPO files to view on my computer or TV, convert digital camera MPO files to side by side images to use with a viewer, etc. I wish I could also use it to view my stereo images. Since NVIDIA dropped support for its stereo viewer, my 3D graphics card, monitor, and active shutter glasses are useless. Can you add support to NVIDIA graphics cards to your program?

Is it nVidia 3D Vision?
nVidia no longer supports 3D Vision, but I have confirmed that it will work with SPM if you use the display drivers from when it was supported.

While working on correcting Depth Maps in SPM, I make a correction and then click Alt + D to see the result as a SBS pair. I then click Z to go back to original + depth map to continue working. Is there a way to see the SBS in real time so that I can work on the orig + Depth map and see the results at the same time as SBS pairs. I have 2 monitors, so ideally I'd have SBS on one and original + depth map on the other so when I make a depth map change I can see it in SBS (or anaglyph?) immediately instead of going back and forth as outlined above. Is this possible?

Press Ctrl+Shift+P(Menu->Edit->Depth Map->2D+Depth 3D Photo Preview)
You can see the 3D effect by dragging the mouse.
It's not exactly the same as Alt+D, but you can check the correction.

creating depth map from stereo images cannot find DMAG exe in DMAG folder gui or non-gui version, path is saved in the settings, no spaces in the folder names, program restarted, but every time it asks for DMAG folder and then does not find the exe

Any chance to implement depth estimation method other than "GoogleAI" (i.e. https://github.com/nianticlabs/monodepth2)?

I know i had the same problem and corrupt file cause that only dont know anymore how i found the corrupt image-file.
have multiple older and newest files in 3dsteroid:
want to view all of them as cross.Newest image is shown up as parallel. i am setting it to cross. go back changing all others also which are wrong. when coming back i see cross-eye-images set back to parallel. any workaround to avoid. and: dont know how to cure how to find the corrupt file. forgot to mentioned how i found.

If the file type is changed such as to TIF from jpg, SPM pro 64bit erases the file name. SPM 32 bit does not do this. The workaround is to exit the file save window and then do another file save. This then comes up with the file name and the desired file type.

Hello! Stereomaker is my favorite app for stereo alignment. Currently I am shooting 3D video and I need an app to align it frame-by-frame. If I use stereomaker to align frames, each frame aligns a bit randomly, so the whole video twitches. Could you please add an interpolation setting for multi-conversion? For example, if you align each 25th frame and interpolating alignment values between them, the video looks smoothly. I've been writing my own application for that purpose for more than 2 month, but I still can't achieve such an excelent quality as stereomaker can. I tried opencv - rectification, rigid transform, ECC, homography. Nothing gives me a perfect result. I think, I need help. What algorythm do you use?
